Obituary of Ralph J. Mattesino

Ralph passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2023 after a short illness.
Ralph was born in September 15, 1928 in Yonkers, New York to Thomas (Kirk) Mattesino and Loretta Wall and has been a lifelong resident of Yonkers. Ralph was raised by his grandparents Dominic and Carolina Mattesino. He graduated from the Yonkers Public Schools and then joined the military, the US Army.
After his discharge from the service, he was a bank teller, then attended Cosmetology School and became a hairstylist and partner at Salon Vendone in White Plains, where he made life-long friends. After working as a hairstylist for many years, Ralph decided to go into real estate. He first worked for various agencies in Yonkers, then opened his own real estate office in Yonkers, Mattesino Realty.
Ralph was a parishioner as well as an usher at St John The Baptist Catholic Church.
Ralph loved to travel visiting areas of the United States and cruising the Caribbean. He loved to dance, especially the Tango competing in many dance competitions. He was a member of the St. Mary's Players and performed in many of their productions over the years. Throughout his life, he was a collector of antiques and treasures. He also enjoyed playing cards with his close and life long friends.
Ralph is survived and missed by his loving sister Carol Torrano, niece Angelina(Jeannie) Mattesino, as well as many other nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews, many godchildren and many close friends . He is also survived by his friend and caretaker of many years, Mario Alves, who the family would like to thank for all his caring and support to Ralph.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, brother Dominick, Edward and Thomas Jr., his sister Patricia Aglione , his nephews Joseph and Vincent, niece Debra Butler.
