Obituary of John O. Moynihan

John Owen Moynihan longtime residence in Yonkers, New York passed away on February 10, 2023 at the age of 95. He was born to Frederick and Erma (Schwartz) Moynihan in Manhattan. His father moved the family to work on the Panama Canal, where John attended high school and subsequently attended the school of Bacteriology in the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge, the family returned to the US where John graduated from Columbia University. He went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years. He was actively involved in the Alan F. Waite Post No. 299 American Legion for decades and served as President. He was an avid gardener enjoyed growing fruits and vegetables and including his specialty, orchids. He also loved to hunt and fish, and was a member of a hunting club for six decades. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (DiBenedetto) and son Owen and daughter Brenda.
