Dear uncle and godfather Nino,
I will miss you very much! I am your first niece and godchild. You always used to reminisce the good times you spent with me and everyone in our family when I was a toddler. We used to all live in a big apartment in Palermo...and by all, I mean Zia Rosaria and zio Giovanni, zia Marianna, zia Rosa, zia Giuseppina, tu, zio Nino, my mom, Rosina, my father, Antonio, me and my brother Enzo. I can't forget the stories about me suggesting that I liked ice-cream and octopus from Mondello ( a beach resort near Palermo) and of course, you would buy it for me. When my mom would be tired of dealing with me and Enzo , two very active toddlers, she would ask you if you could help out and play with us. You were a bachelor and good hearted and always babysat us and gave my mom a break! My dad would be out a lot for his job. He used to set up phone poles and wires all over Sicily and would not return home for days.
When Sal and I purchased our house you helped us with the woodwork: door frames and window sills. When we ordered our kitchen cabinets you promptly noticed that we had no drawers. Sal and I were clueless and reordered the correct pieces and you put them up. You gave us the backdoor as a gift and we were very grateful because we had used all our savings to purchase our house.
You were a good uncle and godfather to me. You will always be in my heart and my memories!
