Obituary of James Maimone

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James Maimone, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Jimmy was born on August 12, 1950 in the Bronx to the late Salvatore and Clara Maimone. He was a member of the National Guard and spent his life in automotive finance.  Jimmy was dedicated to his career and was considered “the best F&I guy in the business” by his friends and peers.

Once retired, Jimmy could always be found by his pool and loved spending the day talking with his neighbors while in the sun. His tan was always the envy of everyone in the summer.  He loved making people laugh with a funny story or his infectious laughter.

Anyone who knew Jimmy knew he was a lifelong fan of The Beatles and John Lennon. However, nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren, Sofia and Luca.  Jimmy’s absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with them and more importantly, spoil them rotten.  “Pop Pop” could spend hours just looking at their pictures and finished every conversation with them by saying, “Love you, love you, love you!”

Jimmy is survived by the love of his life and wife of 48 years, Kathleen (Sansone); his daughter, Shana and her husband, John; his son, Marcus and his wife, Marisa and his grandchildren, Sofia and Luca.

“Count your age by friends, not years.  Count your life by smiles, not tears.”  John Lennon

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society in Jimmy’s name would be appreciated.  For more information, please visit donate.cancer.org
