We are sad to announce the passing of Rita (Carnivale) Vettoretti of Armonk, NY. She died at the young age of 94 on Friday, April 7. She moved to Armonk in 1963 with her late husband, Placido (Pat) where they raised their family. She retired at age 72 from the Town of North Castle Finance Dept.,Park & Rec & Ehrman Pool. She retired at age 91 from her work at her local Election Polling District, being the Chairperson many years over a 50-year span.
She was active in St. Patrick’s of Armonk’s Women’s Guild, was a member of a local travel club, volunteered for the Byram Hills Scholarship Fund, and had a decades-long weekly poker game. Upon retirement, she was an active member of the Armonk Senior Center where she enjoyed yoga, clay class, day trips, games, and costume parties. She cherished many friends but especially her friendship with Barbara House which lasted 60 years. During her last week, she was surrounded by her family and close friends. Her dedication to her family was exemplary and despite life’s difficulties, she carried on, and never complained. She is survived by her six children: Teresa Fiamengo (Richard), Virginia Mee (Christopher), Anthony Vettoretti (Diana), Lisa Cavaliero (John), Paul Vettoretti (Robin), Robert Vettoretti; her 16
grandchildren; Tavia Fiamengo Dolbec (Robert), Andrew Fiamengo, Kevin Mee, Samantha Cavaliero, Robert Fiamengo, Julia Mee, Nicholas Vettoretti, Taylor Cavaliero, Mia Vettoretti, Jordan Cavaliero, Joseph Vettoretti, Charles
Vettoretti, Oliver Vettoretti, Jake Vettoretti, Victoria Vettoretti, Megan
Vettoretti; and one great grandchild, Luca Dolbec.
The family would like to thank her caregiver of 5 months, Tami -
who’s care, love and medical expertise was invaluable.
Visiting hours will be Wed. April 12 – 4-8pm at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, Mt. Kisco, NY; The Funeral Mass will be held on Thurs. April 13 at 11:30am at St. Patrick’s of Armonk.
