We just wanted to share our memory of Carmen Maria Ramos and how special a lady she was. Our experience comes through Dave. There's nothing Dave wouldn't do for his mom at any time or any day. I'm sure Carmen felt at ease knowing she had Dave as a son and I know she was so proud of him. Dave would always tell us stories of his mom and the things he did for her without any hesitation. But besides all the things he did for her it was the little things he would tell us that meant so much more. The little things like having a cup of coffee with his mom or just stopping by to see how she was doing or a phone call to check in on her. The things most take for granted but I know made Dave and his mom feel so special. Those are our memories of Carmen that we wanted to share. We send our love to all!

Even though I didn’t see her as much I remember her always so kind and very nice to us every time we used to go to the Bronx to visit the family. Those are my fondest memories besides many more. With much love your nephew Tony Exia.

Q: How did you meet Carmen?
A: The first time I met Señora Carmen, that’s how I always called her, was when David said to me” do you want to meet my mom?”
When I met her, I was shocked to learn that we shared the same first name. I knew from that moment that we would get along really well.
Señora Carmen loves my son, Luis and daughter, Emma very much. She always made white rice for Emma because Emma loves grandma’s rice. Emma would always say to me “why can’t you make white rice like grandma”.
Señora Carmen would always ask for Luis, send him gifts, and give me motherly advice regarding Luis when I needed it and when I didn’t need it. Thats just what grandmas do!
I will miss her very much but have peace in my heart knowing that she is resting and smiling down at all of us, proudly saying “ my son David is in good hands and my daughters have gained a sister in law, niece and nephew.
Thank you for embracing us like you did, Señora Carmen, until we meet again!

Mom, what brings me a little peace is that you’re with grandpa, Tia Mery and Carmelo (Melo, I know you’ll open her can of soda)
Mom, I love you so much. My heart hurts so bad. I hope I made you proud. Coffee will never be the same without you.
Love you more than I could ever express.
Your son

Q: What 3 words best describe Carmen and why?
A: Strong, integrity, forgiving.
Was the hardest working person I ever met. At times worked two jobs for such little pay to take care of her children. Then cooked delicious hot meals every day. Cleaned and washed clothes and ironed everything perfectly.
If Carmen gave her word she kept it.
No matter what I did wrong she always welcomed me and forgave me.
