Obituary of Nancy Marie Peteshel

Nancy Peteshel, 83, passed away on April 19, 2023. Born on October 22, 1939 to her parents, Mary and Joseph Prattella. Nancy married her husband, the late Robert Peteshel, on June 26, 1966. Together they raised four children, Debbie(Liam) McLaughlin, John Peteshel, Robert(Jane) Peteshel, & Patricia Abrusci. Nancy is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Robert Prattella. She is survived by her sister, Donna(William) Mulzet, grandchildren, Ryan, Sherri, Amy, Christine, Jamie, Matthew, Raymond and great-grandchildren, Aneesa, AshLeigh, Joseph, Christian, and Anastasia. Prior to her marriage she worked for Travelers Insurance Company, then became a stay at home mom for many years, then went to work for Yonkers Board of Education as a Teacher's Aide Assistant at PS #22 and Emerson Middle School from November, 1978 to June, 2002. Sherri, Amy, Christine and Jamie loved the time they spent during their childhood at "Granny and Pop-pop's" house and have wonderful memories with them. Nancy was funny, kind hearted, selfless and was always trying to do for others. As a grandparent, she spent ten years watching her grandson, Ryan and that was one of the highlights of her life. The time they spent together meant the world to her. She was truly his "Granny Goober". She spent the last 7 years at Adira at Riverside Nursing Home and made many friends there along the way and enjoyed the time she spent participating in their social events. Nancy passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside. Family and friends may visit the Sinatra Memorial Home on Friday, April 21 from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
