Obituary of Carmen C. Salas

“When I fall I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.” 

Carmen C. Martinez-Salas, age 75 passed away Monday, April 24, 2023. She was a bright light for many. Carmen was a God-fearing woman and known for her kindness to others. Committed to her family and church. Always had time for a quick prayer. She was a hairstylist prior to joining the Westchester County Department of Transportation where she served as a public servant before retirement. She had many talents, she liked to read the bible; she was an artist who loved to paint and draw. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, church volunteer and friend. In death she is preceded by her parents Dimas Martinez and Carmen M. Lugo, and her brother Martin Martinez. She is survived by her daughter Migdalia Gonzalez & partner Raul Perez; daughter Ivelisse Gonzalez-Mangieri & husband Daniel; and son Aaron I. Salas and his father Robinson Salas; her grandaughter Jessemine A. Norat and great-grandson Donovan Rodriguez; her siblings Evelisse Martinez-Rincon (family: Miguel, Christie and Michelle); Zoraida Feliciano-Hernandez (family: Raymond, Kastina, Dalia and Q); Linda Marty & her huband Carlos and Iraida Duran (family: Jose, Goddaughter Nannette, and Neftali "Mico".)

Funeral services will be held at Community Home for Funerals located at 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10705 on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 3:00-7:00pm.
