Obituary of Russell Patrick Ross

Russell Patrick (Mike) Ross, Sr. 80 of Copake, NY formally of Mt. Kisco and Armonk, NY, passed away at The Grand at Barnwell in Valatie, NY on May 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ross and Rose Bigham, Gale Jones-Ross, his wife of 52 years and their daughter Amy Beth Ross. He is survived by his son Russell (Kristin), Bruce (Susan) Christopher (Carolyn) and daughters Heidi and Jennifer (Carlo), Mike took great pride in his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mike was born in Mount Kisco, NY on October 26, 1942. He attended Armonk Public Schools and graduated from Pleasantville High School. He served in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves from and saw combat action. He served aboard the USS De long, The USS Remey, the USS Enterprise, USS Oglethorpe, and the USS Union aka 106. He was employed by Northern Westchester Hospital, Bedford Central School District and Ridgecrest Apartments. He was a member of the 32BJ union. Mike served his community in many capacities: He coached Little League Baseball and Mt Kisco Junior Football League. He joined the Fire Police in 1969 and was a 50-year member. He served as Captain, President and Comissioner of the Mt Kisco Fire Department. He was avid bowler on the Armonk Bowl Leagues and a MKFD Softball player. Visitation will be held at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home 262 E. Main Street Mt. Kisco on Friday, May 5 from 4-8PM. Funeral Service Saturday May 6 at 10AM burial and graveside service will be at Kenisco in Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation 21 Asch Loop Bronx, NY 10475
