Long time Yonkers native John Gualdino, 74, passed away on July 11, 2023. John arrived to the United States in January of 1963 with his parents, the late Joao and Alzira Gualdino and siblings. His first job was delivering the herald statement newspaper and honing his culinary skills as a cook at Gray Oak restaurant by sawmill. John had a quiet demeanor but knew how to laugh until he cried and never missed an opportunity for his quick and witty retorts. A warm heart who always sought to help others revealing his altruistic spirit. He found joy connecting with nature, nurturing his garden and venturing upstate for hunting. He had a profound love for Portugal, embarking on many memorable trips to his homeland after retiring from over three decades of service with the teamsters local 456 at Peter J. Landi Inc. Above all John was an extraordinary family man and thrived at being grandpa. He leaves behind cherished memories and lessons that will forever shape our hearts. John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Amelia. His children Jennifer (chris), monica(Anthony), David and his treasured grandchildren Carter, Logan, Mason and Presley. His sisters Alice (Joe) and Ana Maria (the late Albert) nieces, nephews and many treasured cousins.
