I was a ballboy in the MISL back in the 80's, and loved when Gino refereed our games. It was on those nights that I asked to be assigned to the officials. He was fair, firm and consistent, but more than that, I remember just a sweet man who always treated the 13 year old me with kindness. May he rest in peace, and may his family be comforted by an amazing life well lived.
