Obituary of Pietro Carozza

Pietro Carozza, of Yonkers, NY, passed away on July 29, 2023, at the age of 91. He was born on February 19, 1932, in Palena, Italy. He grew up in the shadows of World War II and worked tirelessly to provide the best life possible for his family. In 1969, he immigrated to New York from Italy with his wife and three children for a new beginning. He was an active member of the Palenese Society in Yonkers, where he cherished time with friends from Italy. He was the eldest son of the late Gerardo and Filomena Carozza and beloved husband of Anna Carozza of over 67 years. One of seven brothers and sisters, he is predeceased by his younger siblings, Ermesia Parente and Nino Carozza (Carmela) and leaves behind four siblings, Lena Casacchia, Franca Dell'Orso, Giulia D'Angelo, and Fernanda Milio. Pietro was a loving father to Gerardo Carozza (Mary), Joe Carozza (Michelle), and Nina Garcia (Greg). He was also the cherished grandfather "Nonno" of Joey, Stephanie (Michael), Adriana, Melissa, Christopher, Valerie, Danielle, and leaves behind an extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pietro enjoyed making homemade wine, baking cookies, tending to his large vegetable garden and loved making pizza. He was a kind and sweet person who touched the hearts of everyone he met. Pietro will forever be cherished in our hearts.
