As a little girl, Vinny's birthday has always been an exciting day. It was the only night of the year that I was able to stay up past my bedtime, which, if you knew my mother, was a HUGE deal. I remember listening to him play his guitar and celebrating his birthday, which was more of a celebration from everyone else than himself, which spoke true to who Vinny was. We were a family at Hilltop. I would climb through the kitchen window and sit in the yard and house for hours. He treated you like his own. He was always a proud father; whether it was playing catch with us in the field or welcoming us into his home at any time, we all felt like family.
Your memory will live within our hearts always

My Dearest Vinny, where do I begin if I start from the beginning when we first moved underneath you and Kristen was 4 wearing high heels and clicking all over the floor I would have never thought we would have become family. Spending every day together, dinners, bbq’s, family vacations, Easter Egg hunts at Leewood, and most important a brand new car every 3 years. From LBI to Jamaica we have created a lifetime of memories that our families will treasure forever. May you rest in peace and may you watch over your family and guide them on their journey in life. Play your guitar for those in heaven and bring that smile that use to make us smile. Always in our hearts. Deneen amd family.

I met Vinny at Rye Ford and we became friends for life. He even would invite me to holidays at his and Ro's house. They were the best couple ever. As we do as we age I moved on and would always think of Vinny on the 24th of August I used to call and wish him Happy Birthday . Yesterday was one of those days and today I was going to call. Instead I found his Obituary and wanted to wish you a belated Happy Birthday to one of the Greatest men, fathers, husbands and friends a person could know.

“Dads are someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire. Someone to be proud of and someone to brag about. Someone to hold and someone to cry with. Someone to learn from and someone to respect. Someone to listen to and someone to talk to. Someone to try and impress, sometimes rebel against and most of all someone to share everything this life has to offer.”
Vinny Soranno was a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me he was my daddy, my hero. There are so many things that I could say to truly explain how caring and wonderful he was, but after hearing everyone’s memories and stories, you already know. He was selfless, always putting his family and others before himself and never wanting any recognition. He was one of kind, a real gentleman.
Growing up I was always a daddy’s girl and he pretty much let me do whatever I wanted. Whether I was playing hair dresser or we were having a catch out front he was always my comfort and safe place. I have the most incredible memories of my dad but the ones I will forever cherish are from recent years. We had weekly lunch dates with my son Dominick at his favorite diner. He always made sure to tell me how proud he was of me and how happy he was to see me become a mom. He would reminisce and tell me stories from when he was young, Playing baseball throughout the Bronx or getting into trouble with his friends. There were so many stories each one was better than the last. I am so grateful that we made those memories and had that time together.
My heart is broken. I love you daddy and I will miss you more than anything in this whole world.

There’s not much I could say about my uncle that isn’t known, he was the textbook definition of what a man should be. Loving, caring, smart, always well dressed and without a doubt one of the strongest men Ive ever known! He was always there to help everyone, anyway he could and never complained about it. I wish I could of told you how much I looked up to you Uncle Vin & how lucky I was to have a male role model like you in my life … and i hope I can be half the man, husband, father and uncle you were! I won’t say goodbye because I know you’ll always be with me, but until next time… Love Always & Forever Your - “Nephew”

I was lucky enough to know Vinny the last 8 and a half years & in those years I got to know a man that was kind, funny and genuine. Vinny helped me get my first car, I watched a Christmas story for the first time at his house on Christmas Eve (this is a big deal in the Soranno household) and he always had a smile on his face every time I saw him. To say he will be missed would be an understatement, god broke our hearts to show he only takes the very best. Rest in Peace Vinny ♥️

My grandpa was one of a kind. He cared so much about others, almost to a fault. If he preferred a certain food, you could expect to eat it every holiday. One of his ways of looking out for others. He would go out of his way to make sure I was taken care of, and I will forever be grateful for the things I had because of him caring for me. I will always cherish our shared love of history. My most special memory of him was when he took me to Charleston, SC for a historical trip to Fort Sumter.

My Godfather was my father’s only brother. I will miss him and cherish the memories I continue to play back in my head. Golf played a big part in our relationship. Growing up he was my primary teacher and always had the upper hand, except for a round at Saxon Woods with his friends where I posted my lowest score (74). That was the last time we played together and I keep that scorecard in my nightstand. We will play together again!! Until then, love you always Uncle Vin!!!-JD

I considered Vinny one of my dearest friends who I knew since the 1980’s. My family and I send our deepest condolences.
Vinny, I will miss our long talks in person and on the phone. You thanked me for spending time with you but the truth is I enjoyed your company as much as you did mine. I won’t forget our Monday get-togethers where we spent countless hours laughing, joking and just talking about life. It was a pleasure to have known you and rest in peace my dear, loving friend.

Uncle Vin, where do I start. Not only there for anything I needed, but anything anyone needed. Always looking to get the family together from LBI to Cooperstown (I love telling the story of how we found out you were in the Hall of Fame!) Any time you could help from my first car, to another car or a job, I knew I could ask Uncle for help and you would deliver. If I messed up I can hear you now "Come here MEATBALL" but no matter what, the Love was always felt. You were always proud to introduce your Nephew and lend a helping hand. Your impact on the family cannot be measured. You were an idol. We can only aspire to be the loving family man you were.

Uncle vinny, to say you will be missed is the biggest understatement. Our family won’t be the same without you. I will always cherish the years of memories at LBI, I’m pretty sure you were the best “twister” at the ice cream parlor that the island has ever seen! You were hands down the best softball coach, probably because you were so talented yourself. Anytime anyone mentions Cooperstown, I feel the need to tell them my Uncle Vinny is in a video there! To watch you and Aunt Roe dance the lindy is prob one of my favs, I could watch it all day you guys were amazing together. How about the time you got us in to meet Nick Lachey on Thanksgiving cause you sold him a car! Still talk about that one. And finally, the one and only rainbow cookie…I’ll forever think of you when I bake those, such a delicious gift you shared with me from your family. You loved your family so much, and you always made sure everyone knew it. I hope you know how much we all loved you too. I know you’re watching down over everyone, and you’ll be in our hearts forever.

My heart hurts saying goodbye, but I feel at ease knowing how lucky we all were to have him.

Vinny was many things to many people, husband , father, brother, grandfather , uncle, friend, mentor a father figure even a boss. But all in all he was a great man! One whom nobody had anything bad to say. Someone you always wanted to make proud and never wanted to let down. He was one of the archetypes for myself as to what a man should be. Always ready to roll his sleeves up and help others no matter how bad you may have messed up. He was always there for me personally even when others weren’t (and ill never forget that) no matter his own trials, always willing and offering help. Had a true knack for wisdom, advice and calling it how it is all while somehow making you laugh in the process. Ill always cherish our long talks on sports, life, politics, family and everything in between. Too many fond memories to name them all but on top of list are “attempting” to teach me satisfaction on the guitar , golf lessons (strived to get better to impress and be good enough to play with him one day), limo rides to the christmas tree, summer bbqs (just hanging out in yard whole fmaily) , LBI and of course copperstown during the home run race especially seeing his video in hall of fame! …. And cant forget just hearing “hey uncle, hey nephew!”

Vinny was such a big part of our Park Ford family and our family for over 40 years. He was a mentor, and educator, a leader and most important a friend. He so loved our business and the wonderful relationships it offered. He played a major part of the fabric that made our business special. He taught us so much and we are so thankful to have shared a big part of his life and career. The good memories are etched in our hearts. Thank you, Vinny. Your friends at Park Ford.

I have known Vinny for 40 years. My parents would buy their Fords from him and he sold me my first car at 20 years old. He has continued throughout all these years. As the years have gone by, he became Uncle Vinny like he did to so many of his customers. He would always make you feel like you were his only customer and in turn you would follow him to whatever dealership he was working at the time. Three years ago when Vinny got sick again, I became his special nurse. Vinny and I went through many highs and lows over those few months. Till this day he would tell me that I was his angel that saved his life. I will cherish that honor forever.Over the last three years him and Roe have welcomed me into their family and for that I am eternally grateful. They both have become like another Mother and Father to me. I am so sad and heartbroken by your passing Dolly Dimples but I know you are at peace now which brings me some comfort. I will miss you forever. Roe, Donny, John and Kristen, I share your pain and sorrow but always remember Vinny loved you all so much. His family was everything to him. Rest in Peace Uncle Vinny.
Love, Lori, Dave, Pat and the boys

Our sincerest condolences to Roseanna, Donny, John, Kristin and family,
Vinny was a very special person to me, but he also made me feel special. I called him Uncle Vin. He always made you feel like family. Vinny loved his family to the end of the earth. He would do anything and everything for them. We played a lot of golf together and shared many dinners and family functions. I also worked for him selling cars. He was some car salesman and manager. I hope he is enjoying many rounds of golf with my father Pete, Lefty, Vinny O and his other friends. One last thing, Uncle Vin, they don't make men like you anymore! Rest in peace and make up for all that lost time playing golf.
With Love,
Peter Jr., Susan & Primiani Family

I met Vinny over 25 years ago at a golf outing of Ford Motor credit company. We became very friendly throughout the years. He loved to golf but his passion for the Automobile business was like none. He made many friends as he sold them vehicles. The new generation of sales consultant do not have a quarter of knowledge that he possessed. I loved talking to him about the business because he spoke from the heart. He left us to enjoy heaven. I will miss you Vinny! Love you for ever brother.
