Obituary of Lucy Mastrodomenico
Please share a memory of Lucy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lucia "Lucy" Mastrodomenico lit up every room she entered. On August 18, 2023, she peacefully left us from the St. Cabrini nursing home. Born December 12, 1921, in the vibrant Bronx to Grace (Cristoforo) and Giovanni Ruggiero, Lucy's life was a tapestry of love and joy.
Surrounded by her beloved siblings, her mother Gracie, and stepfather Guilio Landini, Lucy's early years were filled with laughter and warmth. In 1941, she married her soulmate, Patsy Mastrodomenico, embarking on a journey of boundless happiness. Together they had one daughter, Margaret.
Lucy and Patsy shared a passion for travel, embarking on many thrilling adventures including Italy, Greece and Mallorca that etched unforgettable stories into their hearts. Even after Patsy's passing in 1996, Lucy's spirit remained undaunted.
She became an active member of the Carmel and Yorktown Senior Clubs, contributing her vibrant energy to those communities. In 2014, she brought her vivacity to the Fountains at the Rivervue, where she danced, journeyed, played Bingo, and mastered Poker.
Lucy's memory is a symphony of love and laughter. She rejoins her siblings Millie DeSilva (Tony), Vincent Ruggiero (Alice), Ed Ruggiero (Dorothy), and Jennie Scirbona (Charlie) in the embrace of eternity. Yet, she leaves behind her daughter Margaret "Marge" Russo (Nicholas, in loving memory), granddaughters Sherene Russo and Valarie Russo, and great-grandchildren Paige Wilkie, Logan Chessler and Nicole Chessler. Her nieces and nephews too share in her legacy.
Lucy's vibrant smile and infectious laughter will forever echo in our hearts.
