Please share a memory of Madeline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Madeline C. Como of Yonkers, N.Y., journeyed to Heaven, on August 20, 2023, after a sudden illness. Born in during the "Great Depression", on May 17, 1929, (as Michalena Buda), in Yonkers, NY, to parents, Loretta and Eugene Buda, she attended Yonkers schools.
In 1955, she married Frank C. Como, at St. Augustine's Church, in Ossining, New York. Together they shared their lives, for 53 years until, the passing of her husband in 2008. Madeline worked as a telephone operator for New York Telephone, a job she loved, until starting a family and also worked, later in life, for Saks Fifth Avenue.
A devoted wife and cherished, caring, mother, she lived her life with a sweet and loving disposition, and a spirit of compassion, generosity, and kindness towards all. She was a great cook and throughout the years, she most enjoyed spending her time with her family and her extended family members.
Madeline is survived by her loving daughter, Lana, by whom she will be infinitely missed. She was a "favorite" Aunt, to many nieces and nephews, who also survive her, and who knew her as "Aunt Mickey." In addition, she is survived by her in-laws Anthony and Theresa Como, of Daytona Beach, Florida.
She was predeceased by her brothers Jerome and Anthony Buda, and her sisters Mary Brown and Rose Kozaro. Also, she was predeceased by her special cousins, Theresa Mancuso and Helen Amichetti, as well as, many close extended family members in Ossining and Yonkers, NY.
Deepest gratitude to the Zaccardi, Iannucci, Buda, Como, Shvedowsky, Scelza, and Ottmer families, for their support during this extremely difficult time.
