Robert Allen VELZY died on September 11, 2023 in FL. Bob was the son of Charles and Ethel BRUNKOW VELZY and was born on December 29, 1928, in Oak Park, IL. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce FIERRO VELZY, devoted sons Robert (Courtney) and Bill, dear granddaughter Lindsey, a brother Howard and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Don and Charles. Bob and Joyce were married in Yonkers, NY and lived in Mt. Kisco for 51 years before officially moving to FL. Bob was an auto mechanic extraordinaire for over 40 years, owning service stations in Harrison, NY. As well as being a master mechanic, there was nothing he couldn't fix, whether projects around the house and elsewhere or repairing airplanes at the Danbury Airport in his retirement. He was an enthusiastic volunteer at the Bedford Hills Little League when his sons were young and enjoyed boating, flying and his newfound fascination with genealogy. In order to compile family histories, his computer skills were self taught. Bob was known for his quiet and calm demeanor and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
