Obituary of Lorraine M. Parone
Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
After a valiant cancer fight, Lorraine was reunited with her husband, Joe, in the Kingdom of Heaven on November 2, 2023.
Lorraine was the 6th of 8 children born in the Bronx to August and Margaret Saumell on December 9, 1936. After graduating high school she met her future husband Joe when he came into her father's shop to get out of cold weather. After 7 years of dating they married on June 17, 1961 to start their own family. Survived by her 4 children: Anthony (Claudia), Joseph (Dawid), Christina (John) and Ralph (Elsa); 5 grandchildren: Miles, Johnny, Cassie, Larisa and Gianna; her sister Maxine: sister-in-laws Eva and Virginia; and, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Joseph, their twin babies, her parents, and siblings: Edward, Helen, Mary, Charles, Beatrice and William; and, loving sisters and brothers-in-law.
Lorraine loved to cook, bake and host holiday dinners. She became the 'adopted' mother and grandmother to many because her loving home was always open to others. She was a caring and generous person and always had a big smile. She loved spending time with family and friends sharing stories over a cup of coffee and cake, and ballroom dancing with her husband where they made wonderful friends and memories.
In her later years, Lorraine lived in a vibrant senior community where she enjoyed the last few years of her life. She was surrounded by friends and very caring personal aides, Ruth, Luisa, and Bing who became family to her. She led a blessed life. There is nothing more beautiful than a life fully lived. Her soul will live on in the people she has touched.
