Obituary of Hans-Peter Koschei

Hans-Peter Koschei passed away during the early morning hours on December 25, 2023. He was born on July 12, 1957 in Kreuzwertheim, Germany, where he spent his early childhood years until moving to the Bronx, New York. In May 1978, Peter married the love of his life, Pattie, and they started a beautiful family in Yonkers. They have two daughters, Tara and Allie. He always beamed with pride when he spoke about Pattie and the girls and was quick to show off things that they had done. As proud as he was of his family, Hans-Peter was even prouder to be the World's Greatest Opa. He loved his grandchildren so very much. He was always being silly and creating things with them. Opa was a man with many talents and hobbies that he shared with his grandchildren. He would draw, color and paint pictures with them, playfully chase Olivia and Anthony around, make fun cucumber creations for Jillian, do his "magic" tricks, and exchange awful dad jokes and play guitar with Nick. He had a special and exceptional bond with each one of them. He absolutely loved traveling with his family, especially to Germany, Aruba and the Big House on Lake Champlain. Hans-Peter just recently retired after over 30 years of service with the United States Postal Service. Hans-Peter will be remembered most for his kindness and unique sense of humor. Hans-Peter will be deeply missed and is survived by his loving wife Pattie; his daughters Tara Tinelle and Allison Criscuolo; his sons-in-law Anthony Tinelle and Frank Criscuolo; his four amazing grandchildren Nicholas, Jillian, Olivia and Anthony; his mother Irmgard; his siblings Jonathan (Robin) Koschei, Erika (John Simonelli) Koschei, Martina (Greg) Schultz, Christine (Pete) Monteleone, Tommy (Melissa) Polesovsky, John (Maria) Polesovsky, Christopher (Sabine) Polesovsky and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Werner Koschei and his brother Helge Koschei.
