Obituary of Fernando Rodrigues

Fernando Rodrigues, 54, also known as Chinelo to friends and family, passed away on January 12th, 2024. He was born in Chaves, Portugal to Albina Lima da Costa and Manuel dos Santos Rodrigues, and raised in his beloved hometown Vila Verde da Raia. He married his wife Maria da Conceição Rodrigues on August 24, 1991 and moved to Mount Vernon, New York to provide a better life for his family. He is also survived by his two children, Fabio and Gabriela, who were his pride and joy. Fernando was an incredible father and husband and his family was the cornerstone of his life.
Fernando was the current President of M. Zonzini Pipeline Services. Alongside his longtime friend and partner, Amandio, he helped build a strong company with a stellar reputation due to his phenomenal work ethic and intelligence. In addition to his many accomplishments and recognitions, the company was awarded the Business of the Year in 2022 awarded by the New York Portuguese American Leadership Conference.
Fernando was adored by many including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to count. Fernando was happiest surrounded by his family and friends at the dinner table with his homemade wine and delicious food. He was a bright light in his family and his community, a light that will always be remembered and celebrated. Words can't describe how much he will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Sinatra Funeral Home, 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY. A mass will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 355 South Broadway, Yonkers, NY. A Seventh Day Mass will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at 8 PM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 355 South Broadway, Yonkers, NY. He will be laid to rest in the Novo Cemitério de Vila Verda da Raia in Portugal.
