Luigi Ferri 1941 - 2024
Luigi Ferri, 82, of Yonkers, NY, passed away in Bronxville, NY on January 23, 2024.
He was born in Corleto, Perticara, Italy in 1941 to Elenora Leo and Angelo Ferri.
In 1967, Luigi married the love of his life, Rosa Iosca. Excited to start anew, they immigrated to Yonkers, NY in the same year. During their blissful matrimony, they had two beautiful daughters, who now have families of their own. Luigi was preceded in death by Rosa in 2003.
Luigi is survived by his daughter Elenora Toczko, son-in-law Craig Toczko, and daughter Angela Beairsto.
He was the grandfather to Jessica Bickmore and her husband Devin Bickmore, Christopher Luigi Beairsto, and his fiancée Arlene Vivar.
Luigi was the great-grandfather to Dakota Alphonse and Dean Antoni Bickmore.
Luigi was a companion of many years to Gina Silvestri
He leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
As a dog lover, Luigi leaves behind his German Shepherd, Lupo Ferri. Grandson Christopher Luigi Beairsto and his fiancée, Arlene Vivar, have warmly welcomed Lupo into their family.
Luigi lived a very eventful life. Before uprooting his life to the United States, he served many proud years in the Italian Military. Once he moved to the States, he worked hard to provide for his family. Luigi became part of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers because of his profession. He proudly dedicated 50+ years of service to the union.
In 1996, Luigi retired. Retirement did not slow him down. He went on to have adventures with Local 5 Senior Group.
The viewing will be held at Sinatra Memorial Home, located at 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10704, on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 2 pm to 6 pm. The funeral will take place on Monday, January 29, 2024, at St. Ann's Church, situated at 854 Midland Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704, at 10 am. Following the mass, Luigi will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery, next to his beloved Rosa.
