My deepest condolences to the Baxter family. I worked for Tony for over a decade at Sleepy Hollow High School, and I am grateful for the time we had together. He prefaced feedback with kind words and a reminder that I was an important part of our community, and he encouraged me to take on leadership roles.
Tony was always out and about in the hallways, and he showed up to every school event. Students appreciated his caring and nonjudgmental nature. He was an integral part of the school community, and he is deeply missed.

Tony Baxter was my colleague in the English Department and my Assistant Principal at Sleepy Hollow High School for 17 years. But more importantly, he was my friend. Tony made sure that I took the time to appreciate what was important in life, that I kept work (and its frustrations) in perspective, and that my goal was always to serve my students. I will fondly remember our chats and never forget the help he extended to me and my family, his quiet kindness, the love he had for his family, and his personal support. Rest peacefully Tony. You will be missed.

Tony will be greatly missed by so many. Among so many positive attributes, he was thoughtful, intelligent, and kind. By working together in a number of education-based projects in the past decade, I could see that he had an amazing heart, and always put students first. I wish his family peace during this very difficult time.

I got the news this morning from Kevin “Gut” McFadden that Tony Baxter died on Monday…and as I remember from our time together at St. Mary HS…BooBoo was the oldest and biggest of the Baxter Boyz…and looking at his picture from the obituary I can only light up from the sight of his smiling eyes and contagious smile!
My heart is saddened from the news of his death…I send my condolences to BooBoo’s family and thank God that his spirit will live in all who were blessed to have known and loved him.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
Coach Harris

Sending our love to the Baxter family. Tony was a gentle giant, a dear friend, classmate, and mentor. Often he was more like my big brother, there when I needed a shoulder to lean on, never afraid to put me in my place, and always leaving me lifted with a knowing smile.
We will miss his guidance, his three point jump shot, his dimples, his thirst for knowledge, his compassion and friendship.
He was proud of his students and his players, and above all he was proud of his family.
Lord, may he find rest in the palm of Your hand. And may the Baxter family find peace in the many hearts that will carry Tony with them always.
Love,
The Dolans

Tony, we love you and miss you here in the Hollow. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to work with you through the years. But I'm especially grateful I had the chance to travel with you on our many Italian trips, and to experience how much we all shared together, students and colleagues alike, exploring and enjoying ourselves in such beautiful memorable places. Peace and love to you, and much comfort and ease to your family, holding you all close to heart.
Mary

My sincere condolences to the family of Tony Baxter, I had the pleasure of working directly with him for many years. He was my supervisor but also a friend. Always willing to lend an ear and give advice. He was considerate and flexible in my years of working with him and I am truly grateful to have been part of his work family. Your children were your pride and joy. Thank you for all of your support during the years.
Your trusted gatekeeper Elaine Lobato.

Our sincerest condolences to the Baxter family. Mr. Baxter was always welcoming, insightful, helpful and friendly whenever my husband and I needed his assistance at Sleepy Hollow High School. Our family has always had a great respect for Mr. Baxter. My husband recently ran into Mr. Baxter and he immediately asked for our young adults and was genuinely happy to hear how well they are doing. May the dear Lord give your family comfort and peace during this difficult time. We will miss Mr. Baxter. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My deepest condolences to the Baxter family. Mr. Baxter was my English teacher and many years later hired me to work at Sleepy Hollow High School. He was one of my favorite teachers and I will forever remember him for correcting me every time I said "I'm good" when he asked " how are you?". He always made sure I said " I'm well " . He gave me the opportunity to work in a place that I have always called home. He was a mentor and a friend. Mr. Baxter will forever live in the memories of his students and colleagues.

I offer my sincere condolences to the Baxter family. I had the honor of working with Tony at Sleepy Hollow High School, where he served as not only my assistant principal but also my friend. Throughout the years, we had the opportunity to chaperone school trips to Europe, share meals in his office, and discuss various topics about life. Tony's favorite subject was always about his children and how proud he was of them. Tony was an exceptional educator who was passionate about teaching and helping others achieve their aspirations. Most importantly, Tony was a devoted Christian, and we would always pray together whenever we met. I am confident that Tony is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One day we will meet again, and break bread- my friend.
