Carminda do Fetal Vieira Pastilha, 92, of Yonkers, NY, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 8, 2024. She was born in Casal Suão, Portugal to Manuel Cristino Vieira and Maria do Fetal on June 7th, 1931. She immigrated to the United States in 1976 and made wooden rulers for Carborundum Co. until retirement. Carminda was a devout Catholic who devoted herself to prayer and inspired others with her faith. She was a smart and hardworking woman who taught herself to read and write and appreciated the simple things in life. She was a vivid and witty storyteller who loved recounting her family history and traditions. In addition to prayer, she loved spending time with loved ones, baking treasured family recipes, crocheting, and watching Portuguese soccer games. She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Adelino Batista Pastilha, and survived by her five children: Maria Isilda, Maria do Carmo, Adelino Fernando, Mario, and Noémia. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.  Friends may call at Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY on Sunday from 4-8PM. A funeral mass is scheduled at our Lady of Fátima Church in Yonkers on Monday at 10:00AM.
