Obituary of Robert J. McCormick

Robert James McCormick, also known as "Big Bob," passed away on February 11, 2024, at the age of 76 in Yonkers, NY. He was born on January 21, 1948, in Yonkers.

Bob was a beloved figure in his community. Throughout his long career, spanning 42 years, he served as a Verizon phone repairman as well as the Chief Steward of local 1103.
His dedication and expertise earned him the respect of all who knew "Mac".

Bob's military service was a significant part of his life. He proudly served as a Marine in Vietnam and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.
His commitment to his country was unwavering, and his service will always be remembered.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bob was deeply involved in his community. He was a devoted little league coach at the Colt's Club. He also taught countless neighborhood children how to ride a bike. 

Bob's warm and loving nature made him a cherished family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois, and his adoring children, Brian (Shari) and Caren. His world revolved around his grandchildren, Eve and Evan, who brought him immense joy and pride. His "Pookie" and "Scoot" shared an unbreakable bond that will live in their hearts forever. 

"Big Bob", "Mac", "Dad", "Papa" will be remembered for his infectious smile, his dedication to his family and community, and his unwavering commitment to service. He touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
