Marcos Sandino Zucco of Yonkers, NY, 95 years old, passed away on February 14, 2024. Marcos was born on April 25, 1928, in a little town called San Jose de Ocoa in the Dominican Republic. He is the son of Maria Zucco and Juaquin Nunez and was one of 6 children. He was very close to his 5 siblings Hosanna, Manon, Altagracia, Cori, and Celeste, and is now peacefully reunited with them all. 

While he lived in the Dominican Republic, he was an electrician until he migrated to New York in 1960. While in New York, Marcos was a successful entrepreneur. He sold jewelry door to door and worked as a presser at a cleaners. He eventually accumulated his money to buy a hardware store, which he successfully owned until 2008 when he retired. 

He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and since then, we've juggled this new reality. It's always been a priority to make sure he was as comfortable as possible in his home, surrounded by family. Marcos loved to walk, ride bike, read, travel, converse about history, spend time with family, and enjoy life. He was always happy and free-spirited, even while struggling with the terrible disease he had succumbed to.

Marcos is survived by his wife Estela to whom he was married for 60 years. They originally met in the Dominican Republic and were reacquainted in New York. Since then, their life together has been a true love story and was enhanced by sharing special times with family and friends. He is survived by his two children, Agniezka (Yantzi) Adams and Alan (Nancy) Zucco. He was deeply loved by his 6 grandchildren, Lianna, Chelsea, Sienna, Blake, Sofia, and Corey. And is now reunited with his beloved grandsons, Nicholas and Alan Brandon, who passed away before their time. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20th, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers, NY. Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, at 10:30 am, at St. John The Baptist Church, Yonkers, NY, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
