Dorothy Lombardi Ramirez of Yonkers, New York, passed away on Monday March 4th with her son, Edmund, daughter-in-law, Nancy, and nieces Michelle, Maria,Melissa (David) by her side. She was 90 years old.Dorothy, most commonly known as Dolly by the ones closest to her, was born on June 27th, 1933, in Yonkers where she spent her whole life. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale Lombardi and the late Christina Spensieri Lombardi. Dolly grew up with siblings Fanny, the late Mary Ann and the late Bernie. They all attended the Yonkers schools. After graduating from Commerce High School, she went to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Upon graduation, Dorothy worked with top designers like Halston, Stan Herman, Nicole Miller and Anne Klein to name a few. In 1961 she met and married the love of her life, the late Edmund Ramirez Jr., and she hand made all of her bridesmaids dresses for the wedding. She and Eddie had two children, son Edmund Michael and her daughter the late Lisa Marie. She loved her children and worked hard to provide for them. While raising her children, Dorothy managed to work in fashion design and while getting her real estate license. She continued practicing real estate for several decades.Dolly was known for her strong opinions and persuasiveness. This is what made her one of the most effective PTA Presidents while Lisa and Eddie were in school. In 2003, Dolly became the proud grandmother of Nicole. The one thing Dolly enjoyed most in life was time with her granddaughter Nicole and her brother Nico(Jasmine). Dolly also enjoyed going to the casino, and cooking/baking for her family. She was dedicated to friends and family and could always be counted on when someone was in need. She was a very strong-willed woman and her family knew that when she gave advice they should probably follow it because she was almost always on point. She was an outstanding mother, grandmother, sibling, friend and aunt to the many nieces and nephews she is survived by. Dolly will be greatly missed by all she left behind.
