Obituary of Reynaldo Rivera Velez
Please share a memory of Reynaldo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reynaldo “Rey “Rivera Velez, 69, of Yonkers, New York, went with God on Wednesday, March 21st, 2024. He departed from Montefiore hospital due to chronic illness.
Rey was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on September 9th, 1954 to Alejandro Rivera and Josefa Velez.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sylvia, along with his seven children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rey worked very hard as a machine operator for many years at Barron Metal Products in Yonkers. Rey will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor; his love of music, specifically, the guitar; his handy skills, whether it was an electronic or car, he’d fix it all! Most of all he will be remembered for his warm loving heart. His love for his family was beyond measure. He fought every battle with the thought of them in mind. They were his strength and his reason to never give up. On March 21st God said “enough” and he breathed his last breath in the presence of his beloved wife and children.
Memorial services to be held on Tuesday, March 26th at Sinatra Memorial Home at 499 Yonkers Ave from 4-8pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday, March 27th at St. Peter-St. Denis Church at 91 Ludlow Street. Burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery
