Obituary of Carmelo Rizzo

Papa was born in Pellaro, Reggio Calabria, Italy in 1928

He decided leaving Italy and start a new life in Canada , he ended up in Calgary for a short period of time, then he went to Toronto where it was a lot warmer, his siblings followed him, and started their lives there, it was here when he met his soulmate Edith Varco and they decided moving to NY, they got married and did build their lovely family becoming parents of Maria and Tino.

Things were not easy but dad always worked hard to give us what he could, he bought the first house in Mount Kisco 1962, we were so blessed having wonderful neighbors who became our family.

Papa was always proud of his accomplishment, then in time he decided to move to a better and bigger house in the same town, he was all about making family happy.

Papa had a great life, his hobbies were many, but the most important things he did and enjoyed so much were making wine, planting tomatoes and vegetables, playing cards with close friends and cooking for family and friends.

It will be impossible to forget his good sense of humor.

Papa was devoted to his family, he passed away last May 21st 2024, he left us with a broken heart but full of great memories and gratitude for all he did for us and the love he gave us.

Papa had a wonderful life and we will miss him forever.
