Obituary of Eutilia Alongi

Please share a memory of Eutilia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eutilia "Tillie" Zarrella Alongi, cherished matriarch and born-again daughter of Christ, passed away on May 26, 2024, changing her address from Earth to Heaven. Tillie was born on August 12, 1931, in New York City, the first child of Aniello and Catherine (née Aiello) Zarrella. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alphonso. In 1951, Tillie married her childhood sweetheart, Edward, a union that lasted over 60 years until his passing. Together, they raised three children: Nancy (Dante) DiFrancesco, Susan (Rob) Santini, and Edward J. Alongi. Tillie is also survived by five grandchildren: Michael (Kiara) DiFrancesco, Angela (Jason) LaMorte Doerr, Robert DiFrancesco, Edward C. Alongi, and Ashley Alongi, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine Savarese, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tillie lived her life exemplifying the teachings of Christ through acts of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. She embodied the spirit of Matthew 25:40, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." Her unwavering faith and love touched many lives, reflecting Christ's light in the world. With the promise of 1 Corinthians 2:9, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him," we hold onto the assurance that the best is yet to come as she now rests in the arms of her Savior. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home in Mount Kisco, NY, on Thursday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A religious service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, NY.
