Katherine Garvin Candee passed away suddenly on July 30. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, her son Alex and daughter-in-law Adela, her son Jason and daughter-in-law Marena, her stepsons Chris and Brian and daughter-in-law Lauren, seven grandchildren, as well as a sister and four brothers, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Buddy.

Katherine received her BA from Mercy College and two Masters degrees from Fordham University. She had a long and successful career as a social worker and later as a special education teacher. Katherine was a kind and gentle person, well known for her love of children and animals, her sense of humor, her kindness and compassion.
