Obituary of Pamela Jane McLaughlin

Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Pamela Jane McLaughlin (nee John) “Pam”, age 52 of Yonkers, NY, formerly of Willingboro, NJ,
passed away on August 13, 2024 with her loving son and family by her side.
Pam was born on March 16, 1972. She was the youngest twin born to Charles and Patricia John in
Willingboro, NJ with Carolynn beating her by 4 minutes and surprising her parents as they did not
know there were two babies. Pam was a sweet, thoughtful child. She graduated from Willingboro
high school in 1990, ranked in the top ten of her class. She was very creative and artistic and it was
that talent that took her to Trenton State College where she majored in Graphic Design, graduating
in 1994. Her creativity and attention to detail lead to a successful career as a graphic artist, most
recently with SGS in White Plains, NY.
In 1996 Pam and Carolynn moved to Yonkers, NY and it was in that community that they found their
home and lifelong friends who became family. In 1999 Pam met Robert “Robbie” McLaughlin whom
she would marry in 2002. This marriage would bring Pam the light of her life in 2004 when her
wonderful son, Malachy came along. Mal kept her on her toes with his boundless energy.
Pam was a longtime parishioner of the St. Barnabas Church in Bronx, NY. She loved cats, especially
her grandkitty, Lucki. She was a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. Pam loved all crime
dramas, the Twilight books and movies and the TV show How I Met Your Mother. She was a great
artist and graphic designer and appreciated art in all forms. She also loved to travel, especially to
Ireland to visit family and friends.
In December of 2020, Pam started her long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a strong and
fierce warrior but ultimately this brutal disease took our smart, sweet, kind, courageous, and
beautiful Pam all too soon.
She is survived by her son Malachy McLaughlin; her husband Robert McLaughlin; her mother
Patricia John (nee Mullane); her twin sister Carolynn Minnock (Joseph); her sisters, Kristine
DeNardo (Michael), Cheryl Dusheck (Brian); her nieces and nephews, Marissa Dusheck, Jane
DeNardo, Andrew Dusheck, Nicholas DeNardo, Alexandra DeNardo and Garrett Dusheck; her
aunts and uncles, especially Denise Mullane; her cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her
father, Charles John, Jr.; her uncles Robert and Richard John; and her grandparents Joseph and
Anna Mullane, and Charles and Jane John.
