Obituary of Caroline Sarah Duggan
Caroline Sarah Duggan (née Browne), dearly beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, went to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at her home in Seneca, SC. She was 54.
Caroline was born in the Bronx, NY just six months after "Sweet Caroline" was released. It is almost as if the song were written in anticipation of her arrival. Everybody loved Caroline. A member of the Catholic faith, she attended high school at the Academy of Mount St. Ursula in the Bronx before graduating from Lehman College. She followed in her father's footsteps by joining the NYPD but left the force after four years for a higher calling: motherhood. Caroline was a role model of love, devotion and advocacy for her children.
Caroline met the love of her life, Patrick Duggan, at age 19. They suffered the loss of their first-born child, Michael, at one week of age but out of that tragedy came a marriage that produced three beautiful children and so many happy memories. They enjoyed frequent family gatherings, vacations to places including the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Coco Beach, and of course many joy-filled family movie nights with popcorn and Twizzlers.
Caroline was exceptionally empathetic. She had a special ability to have everyone and anyone open up to her. She was warm and loving to family, friends and strangers alike. She loved her dogs and treated them with great care and affection.
Caroline is survived by her husband Patrick, daughters Hayley and Lauren, son Liam, siblings Elizabeth Scozzafava (Edward), Matthew Browne (Rosemary), and Justin Einhorn (Julia), parents John Browne (Lily) and Patricia Einhorn, mother-in-law Margaret Duggan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a wake for Caroline on Friday, August 30 from1:00-3:00pm and 5:00-7:00pm at Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home, 262 E. Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY and a Funeral Mass at 10:00am on Saturday, August 31 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2 Green Street, Mount Kisco, NY.
