Maria was born to the late Miguel Angel Baez and Felicita Alfonso Baez. Maria was born on December 21st 1958 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and returned to New York City shortly after where she resided. She was the youngest of three children and leaves behind one sister, Yolanda Baez Morales, and one brother, Louis Baez. Maria grew up on the Lower East Side where she attended P.S 188, then went onto J.H.S 71 where she met the love of her life David Pantoja. She then went to Washington Irving High School. Later in life she and David got married and had 4 children. David Jr, Janet, Susan, and Justin. They have 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Maria had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone. Marias pride and joy was her family, and she loved bragging about how handsome her husband was. She was very outgoing. She loved traveling, perfume, fashion, and red lipstick. She will truly be missed and in our hearts. Thank You. We deeply appreciate the kindness, support, and love you've shown us during this difficult time. It will always be remembered. The family of Maria Pantoja.
