Frank Caesar Cardone, age 99, of Yonkers died on Tuesday night, November 26, 2024.

 

Mr. Cardone was born on September 6, 1925 in Tagliacozzo, Italy. He arrived in the United States in 1947, and like many arrivals from Tagliacozzo, immediately settled in the "Little Italy" Park Hill section of Yonkers.

 

He married Yonkers native Mary DeSantis in April 1950. She predeceased him on November 23, 2009, just shy of her 87th birthday.

 

He worked for many years as a tool and die maker at Barron Metal Products in Yonkers and for three years at Hudson Bearings in East Lyme, CT. He and Mary also owned Cardone Fine Foods, a neighborhood grocery store, for three years in the mid-1960s.

Mr. Cardone is survived by his sons, Frank Jr. (Grazia) and Alfred (Camille, deceased) of Yonkers, four grandchildren: Laura DeSantis, Lisa DeRuzza, Anthony Cardone and Christopher Cardone and five great grandchildren: twins Matthew and Mark DeSantis, John Cardone, Camille Cardone and Henry Cardone, He was predeceased by his sister Elisea, of Rome, Italy and, earlier this year, by his brother Joseph, of Yonkers.

Visiting hours will be at the Sinatra Funeral Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue, on Monday, December 2 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass follows at Saint Barnabas Church on Tuesday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m. He will then be laid to rest with Mary at St. Joseph Cemetery in Yonkers.
