Robert J. DeVonyar passed away August 2, 2010. Mr. DeVonyar was born on November 26, 1924 in Yonkers, NY and was a lifelong resident Yonkers, NY. He attended Yonkers Schools and attended art school in New York City. He served in the United States Army Air Force in the South Pacific, (New Guinea - Australia) during World War II, He served as a meteorologist and was in for two and a half years. Robert was an accomplished musician and an artist in multi media. His mother Frances Marlow De Vonyar was the First Violinist for the Yonkers Philarmonic Orchester. He was a resident of Monastery Manor for 5 years and was a resident at the NY State Veterans Nursing Home at Montrose for the last 2 Years. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Empire Post in Yonkers. He was a communicant at Sacred Heart Monastery. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
