Angelo M. Prestamo, a lifetime Yonkers resident died peacefully on August 10, 2010. Born on February 6, 1931 to Emilio and Abelina Prestamo, he was 79. For 32 years he was employed as a bus driver for Liberty Lines. Angelo attended Yonkers schools and played baseball, football and basketball. His exploits on the field and on the court earned him All-City honors in 1948 and 1949. After graduation in 1949, Angelo signed a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers where he played in their minor league system. Unfortunately, the Korean War unfolded and Uncle Sam needed his services and he was drafted into the Army. In his leisure time Angelo enjoyed playing golf. For 40 years, he was a member of the Armando Rauso Post serving as its commander for five terms. Beloved husband of Ann (Billie) Prestamo. Devoted father of Anthony Prestamo and Angelo (Leslie) Prestamo. Cherished grandfather of A.J., Morgan, Andrew and Michele Prestamo. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral Mass at St. Peter Church on Friday at 10AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
