Obituary of Bessie D'Anna

Bessie D'Anna, age 90, a long time resident of Yonkers died peacefully on August 19, 2010 at New Sans Souci Nursing Home. Mrs. D'Anna was born November 22, 1919 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of the late Felix and Anna Nori. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph J. D'Anna, Sr. They were married on November 12, 1944 at St. Mary's Church in Yonkers. She was also predeceased by her brother, Richard Nori. Bessi attended school in Yonkers and worked at the Yonkers Public Library for 19 years in the processing department at the Will Branch. She is survived by her loving children, Diane Grossman and her husband Charles of Yonkers, Joseph (Jay) D'Anna and his wife Rosalind of Poughkeepsie and Thomas D'Anna of Hawthorne. Cherished grandmother of Marc and Eric Grossman and Nicole, Jovane and Giancarlo D'Anna. Also surviving are many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 2-8 PM. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 at Annunciation Church, 470 Westchester Ave, Yonkers. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers.
