Jerry J. Roberto, age 87, of the Bronx died Friday, October 8, 2010. Mr. Roberto was born March 31, 1923 in the Bronx, NY the son of the late Matthew and Angelina (Scorese) Roberto. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 during World War II and saw action in the European theatre. He was a POW and a Purple Heart recipient. Jerry was a distinguished member of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. Jerry owned and operated Beauty Lane Hair Salon on Kingsbridge Road. He is survived by his beloved wife Annette (Gisante) Roberto,three daughters: Christine Ragusa, Michele Barisano, Stephanie Carenza. Grandson, Christopher Ragusa; Granddaughter, Kristen Ragusa; Granddaughter, Kacie Ragusa; Grandson, John Barisano; Granddaughter, Kali Barisano; Granddaughter, Sabrina Barisano. Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 at Annunciation Church, 470 Westchester Ave, Crestwood. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
