William M. Washienko, 90 a resident of Hastings-on-Hudson for the past 58 years died on October 26, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center. Born October 1st, 1920 inYonkers, NY, he attended schools there before proudly serving in the US Army from 1943 1945. He was married to the former Sophie T. Dabkowski in Gardner , MA on May 25, 1946. She proceeded him on October 29th, 1975. The former Building Inspector for the Village of Hastings. He was employed with NY State Dept. of Labor as an Associate Safety Inspector fot 40 years before his retirement in 1987. He was a past commander and member of the American Legion for 57 years and a 3rd degree member of the Kings of Columbus Council 318. He is survived by his two sons Warren, William Bruce, a grandson Michael, a brother Nicholas of Yonkers and many nephews and nieces. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring St. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral mass at St. Matthew Church on Friday at 11 am. Interment Mt.
