Elmer J. Blake of Yonkers, NY known to friends and family as John, passed away on November 6, 2010 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 62. His parents were Robert and Nettie. John proudly served his country in the army from 1964 to1966 at the rank of Specialist 4th Grade. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years, spending much of that time at the Fieldston Branch. After retirement he quickly returned to the workforce at Mercy College. He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen of 38 years and their two children: Michael and Christine and her husband Michael Bucciero. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren Daniel, Matthew and Christopher Bucciero as well as his siblings: Robert, Charles, James and Linda Blake. Friends and family may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday at St. Eugene's Church.
