Joseph Cristantiello, 89, passed away on January 16th, 2011 in his home in Palm Coast Florida surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was the beloved husband of Rita Catania Cristantiello, devoted father of Diana Zottoli, Paula Walsh, and Lisa Cristantiello, and father-in-law of Gary Walsh. He was also the grandfather of Ryan Walsh, Alyssa Zottoli Klein, Corey Walsh, Patrick Zottoli, and Kaitlin Walsh and great-grandfather of Xavier Walsh, Evan Walsh, and Ava Klein. He was the brother of Mary Castellano, Angelo Cristantiello, and Philip Cristantiello. Joseph was born in Auburn, New York on October 9th, 1921 of Angelo and Jesse Cristantiello. He was a veteran of World War II and was part of the Normandy Invasion on D2 as part of the 90th division of the United States Army. Joseph was the manager of Mallory Furniture on Fordham Road in the Bronx, and then became co-owner of the Furniture Manor on White Plains Road, also in the Bronx. He resided in Yonkers, New York and later Greenburgh, New York before moving to Palm Coast, Florida in 2006. He and his wife of 62 years, Rita, were active members of the Westchester Association For Retarded Citizens. They were honored for their over 40 years of volunteer service to this organization. Joseph will be remembered most as a hardworking family man who adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Sinatra Funeral Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue on Wednesday from 7pm-9pm and Thursday from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:30am at Saint John The Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Avenue. The Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Webster Avenue and 233rd St., Bronx, NY.
