Obituary of Maria A. Matos

Maria A. Matos, age 93, of Sandy Hook formerly of Yonkers, NY died Monday, March 28, 2011. Mrs. Matos was born May 4, 1917 in New Bedford, MA the daughter of the late Joaquim and Anna (DaSilva) Antonio. Beloved wife of the late Pedro Matos. Loving mother of Americo (Judith) Matos of Sandy Hook, CT and the late Maria Celeste Smith. Dear sister of Maria Celeste Callahan, Jose Antonio, Henrique Antonio and Americo Antonio. Caring grandmother of Peter John Smith and her step grandchildren Brian Mauriello and Valerie Mauriello. Maria was also a cherished step great grandmother of Adam Mauriello. Maria also is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Inocencio Antonio and her sister Alzira Vieira. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 at Christ the King Church, 740 North Broadway, Yonkers. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
