Joseph "Big Joe" Barberi, age 74, of Yonkers died Sunday, April 17, 2011. Mr. Barberi was born June 10, 1936 in Yonkers, NY the son of the late Joseph and Carmela (Liberatore) Barberi. He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1957 and was a devoted member of the Armando Rauso Post in Yonkers. He was employed as a Electrican by Local 3 for 50 years after his retirement he worked at the VanCortlandt Golf Course, which he loved. He is survived by his beloved wife Julie (Fortuna) Barberi, his two loving daughters two daughters Jodi (Pat) Harris and Michelle (Mark) Alexander, his dear sister Shirley Diuro and his two loving nieces
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers. Entombment will be at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale.
