Lawrence J. D'Alessandro, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, NY, entered into eternal rest on June 12, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born on February 20, 1932 to the late Nunzio and Angelina D'Alessandro. He attended Yonkers schools. Lawrence proudly served in the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers attaining the rank of Corporal in the Korean War. He was a charter member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Westchester County Chapter. Lawrence was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 279 (formerly 188) for over 50 years. He was a master carpenter, and was involved in constructing many commercial and residential properties, and took great pride in his work. Lawrence was a lifelong parishioner of St. Ann Church in Yonkers. He is survived by his beloved wife Fannie of 55 years, his son Anthony, daughter-in-law Sharon, his daughter Linda D'Alessandro Larocca, grandchildren Jerry, Scott, Adriana, and the late Rebecca. He was predeceased by his daughter Lorraine Travis. He was also the beloved brother of Rose Raffaele, and her late husband Amico Raffaele, Nancy Berardis and her husband, Anthony. He is also survived by many cherished nephews and many friends. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
