Cannata, Vincent "Jim", 94 a resident of Yonkers, died peacefully on June 16, 2011. Known by most as Jim, and to a close few as Jim Fordham. Loving husband of Rose Cannata. Beloved father of Patricia Copeland. Cherished grandfather to Kathryn and Anne Copeland. Jim proudly served his country as a Veteran in the US Army. He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day +1, and survived the Battle of the Bulge, receiving a Bronze Star Medal for service above and beyond the call of duty. Jim went on to work as a truck driver for the Fordham Fuel Co. for 40 years. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY, on Saturday and Sunday, from 2-4 +7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at St. Anthony's Church in Yonkers. Entombment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
