Joseph Poccia, Jr., age 88, of the Bronx and Yonkers died Thursday, June 16, 2011. Mr. Poccia was born January 20, 1923 in Yonkers, NY the son of the late Joseph and Speranza (Sposito) Poccia. He served in the US Army during World War II in both the Infantry and Paratroopers Unit. He was employed by as Teamster for Local 465. He is survived by his beloved wife Lisbeth Sugar. Devoted father of Joann (Paul) Brace, Kenneth (Joanne) Poccia and Lynn Pavesi. Dear uncle of Joel Poccia. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 at Mt Carmel Church, 70 Park Hill Ave, Yonkers. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers.
