Dear Torre Family,
Five years ago, at my mother's wake, I remember seeing a man in a camel colored wool coat with toggle buttons standing in front of the casket. I did not recognize him until Lane said "Christen, you remember Mr. Torre, right?"
Immediately, a feeling of tremendous warmth and deep gratitude came over me. The man came to represent the family that had been such a huge part of Sacred Heart School...and my childhood.
I will never forget the feeling his presence gave me. I am so sorry that I did not know until today. I would have loved to return the favor to all of you. I am so sorry I missed the opportunity.
My deepest sympathies,
Christen

I don't think in my 49 years of knowing Uncle Frank that I ever saw him without a smile. He always had a kind word, always saw the glass of life as half full. He will be remembered by all of the nieces and nephews and his family with fondness and with gratitude for being so kind to us. Uncle Frank, may God bless and keep you always. Love, Missy

It's a fascinating piece. I was in London rlenctey, but managed to miss it.What did strike me was that - when it comes to war - men are represented largely through historical figures like Montgomery, while women get a series of clothes on coat pegs. Not sure if there's anything in that (except it portrays women as purely functional), but I thought it was interesting.

Dearest Torre Family:
Words only make less the emotions and feelings I'd like to express. My fellow musician, Jazz enthusiast, and friend always had a special place in my heart. The model husband & father that he was, Frank always instilled the ideals and morals that every man should abide by. Briefly, in song I write:
Mr. Frank Torre
A Man that I knew,
Was a husband, a father,
And a grandfather too.
His life was full
Of fine things a man has,
Like "percussing" to "swing"
Or enjoying Latin Jazz.
From Yonkers to Dobbs,
Then Pawling came next,
Are just a few places
I'll mention in this text.
Be it on School Street
or Meadoway,
Or "Lola Lane" too,
These are some addresses
Where he stayed with you.
Music is the Love,
Life is the Song,
At the right hand of the
Father,
Is where you belong.
And so my dear friend,
My love shall not decrease,
May God Bless you and keep
you,
And forever, Rest In Peace.
To the family, May God keep watch over you and console you during this time and forever.
My love ALWAYS,
Ronnie Masciandaro

I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of working for Frank, Don, Al & Bobby for 7 years at Torre Lumber. I grew to love Frank not only as my boss but as a Uncle. I want to take the time to send my condolences to the entire Torre family and hope and pray they all find the comfort in each other in this difficult time.
