Ada Placidi passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016. She was 89. Born in Yonkers, NY; Ada had been a resident of Carmel, NY for the past 7 years. Ada was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina Egidi Tobacco. Ada dedicated her life to her family. She taught her daughters about love, generosity, integrity, optimism, and selflessness. She was devoted to her husband Duffy for 68 years of marriage. Ada was an avid reader of autobiographies. She loved to travel, attend Broadway shows, talk politics and discuss current events, watch classic movies, and took great pleasure in the beauty of her garden of flowers. She cherished the moments she spent with her great-grandchildren. She made the most amazing homemade potato salad and was always searching for the best slice of pizza.
Ada was a gracious and gentle woman. She was always caring and supportive of the people she met throughout her lifetime. Ada loved being surrounded by family and friends. She was always vibrant and fun to be around. She was the life of a party.Our lives have been immensely enriched by her presence. She is our special "Little Lady."She has captured our hearts and continues to hold them. Loving mother of Barbara Battaglia (Paul) and Donna Conte ( Richard). Ada is survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer Cirioni and Gregory Conte, and three great- grandchildren, John Paul, Justin,and Julianna Cirioni. She is also survived by her brother Angelo Tobacco.
