I have just found out that Rita has passed, since I had moved from Hastings 10 years ago. She was the most amazing person - kind, generous, with a loving soul. She taught piano to my daughter and there is no one who was as good as Rita as a teacher. She motivated through care and love. Her recitals were such fun - no pressure, just joy. I had hoped she would teach my granddaughter...
I think of her often, especially when I hear a piece of music that she taught or we discussed. It is because of her that I discovered one of my favorite movies - The Red Violin. Rita will be missed by all who knew her.
