My Deepest condolences to Bill's family. I was a flight instructor at West Air in the early 90's. I truly enjoyed Bill's leadership and guidance. May he be at peace, and may Gods Blessing be with his family.

My deepest condolences to Bill's family. Having got my pilot's license in the late 70's I knew the family. Then in 2011, some 25 years later I came to know Bill again, both of us older and wiser. Bill had a great sense of humor and he made you feel good. His passion and knowledge of the aviation industry was readily apparent. I will very much miss seeing Bill.

Bill and I were boyhood best friends from Limestone Road at a time when the world was a simple and kinder place. Scouts, camping out in backyards, Little League Baseball, Pirate adventures in the swamp, the caddy shack at Whippoorwill C.C.; and later as members of the Armonk Fire Department. We were inseparable. Then as suddenly as things start we grew apart and entered different lives. I had not seen Bill in many years and am quite saddened to learn of his passing. To his family I hope you can find solace in knowing that he was a good man and did his best to serve others. He will be remembered, and not forgotten, and I will think of him often.

I am so sorry to learn that Bill is no longer with us. Bill and I were involved in T of NC politics and it was not easy at the time. I came along when things were heated but Bill and I kept our top hats on. I remember running into him once at Fernando's Pizza when neither one of us wanted to run into anyone. We embraced. I wanted Bill to know that I regarded him. I called him a couple of times over the years and we had a friendly conversation.
I am sorry for your to soon loss.
Regards,
Christopher Carthy

So very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was truly a fine representation of what a person can and should be. I have a lot of fond memories from Whippoorwill and when I trained at Westair in the 80's. May Bill rest in peace and the family be comforted by all the memories he left behind.

I met Billy 25 years ago when I began flying at Westair at Westchester County Airport. He was a co- owner of Westair and my airplane was based there.
A consumate gentleman, he was not only my landlord but over the years became a good friend.
Billy was a great golfer, had no ego dwarfing his sense of humor and loved interacting with his pilot tenants.
Through the years and his battles with recurring bouts of cancer, he always had a smile and dealt with the painful chemtherapy and surgeries with courage and dignity.
He was one of a kind, a great example to those lucky enough to know him and will be both missed and fondly remembered.
