Lawrence A. Sarno, age 63, of Yonkers, died peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020. Larry was born on March 31, 1956 in Bronxville, NY to Arthur Sarno and Muriel (Wolfson) Sarno. He is survived by his sister, Virginia (Sarno) Baxter, her husband Daniel, his nephew Richard Sarno and his wife Lucyann, his nephew Arthur Sarno, and two grand nieces, Isabella Sarno and Aliana Sarno. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, his love for cars led him into the mechanic field. He worked as a mechanic for the United States Post Office for 15 years. Larry had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time in what he called "the country" in Cobleskill, NY. Larry's personality and generous spirit influenced many people throughout his life. Most people will remember him as the big guy with the even bigger heart. He will be greatly missed by his many life-long friends as well as his family. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 1:00PM at Community Home for Funerals Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00PM at Community Home for Funerals Inc., 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Larry's name to The New York Stem Cell Foundation.
